Penny Duncan

It is with great sadness, we share the passing of Penny Pianalto Duncan, age 78 of Surprise, AZ (formerly of Huntington Beach, CA) at home on January 25, 2022.

Penny was born on April 6, 1943, in Glendale, CA to Johnnie and Marie Pianalto but grew up in Culver City, CA. Penny graduated from Culver City High School and quickly got a job at Douglas Aircraft. She worked for McDonnell Douglas in Santa Monica and Huntington Beach for 38 years and retired early at age 53.

She loved watching sports on TV, specifically Angels baseball, and tennis. She enjoyed tole painting, needlepoint, and cooking.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents, and parents-in-law, her husband, Michael Duncan, her ex-husband Edward Ayala and her longtime companion, Richard McCallson.

She is survived by her 2 caring sisters Cindy Pianalto (Geri) and Nancy Tungate (Fred); her 3 children Edward John Duncan, Michael Duncan II (Denise), and Erin Roth (Randall); her 5 grandchildren, Darcie, Andrew, Michael III, Coby and Tristen, and her nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Nancy, Fred, Young Fred, and John for their loving care during her final year.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday,  February 3rd, 2022 at 1 pm, at Thompson Funeral Chapel, in Goodyear, Arizona.
