Lila “Dee” Dolores Hulin

Lila “Dee” Dolores Hulin, 89, of Peoria, Arizona passed away on June 1, 2024 surrounded by members of her family. Lila was born on May 26, 1935 to Lila Adams and the late William Jointer at Margaret Hauge Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey.  She was raised by her Stepfather Alston and Mother Lila Bennett. Dee was the third of seven children. She spent her life working as an Assistant Secretary beginning her career at Western Electric, Foster Wheeler and ending her career at Digital Equipment Corporation in 1991.

Dee embodied a spirit brimming with passion, love, and an infectious smile. Her distinctive laugh resonated across any space, effortlessly bringing smiles to all who heard it. She had a passion for entertaining and was a fantastic host. Family held the utmost significance in Dee’s heart; she cherished her role as a grandmother to her two beloved grandsons, Christopher and Anthony. As a devoted wife and mother, her love and care knew no bounds, leaving indelible memories through her warm hugs and affectionate kisses.

Music illuminated Lila’s life with immense joy. She found solace in dancing and singing, particularly to the melodies of Johnny Mathis. Additionally, she delighted in the quiet pleasures of reading, knitting, sewing, indulging in episodes of Law & Order, and leisurely walks. She also adored shopping for new clothes, shoes, accessories, and home décor. Lila’s vibrant presence touched countless lives and her legacy will forever be cherished.

Dee leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 57 years; MacNeil Hulin Jr., her daughter Cheryl Hulin- Gayle and son-in-law Michael Gayle of Easton, PA., son; Dr. Marc Hulin and daughter-in-law Kathryn Hulin of Peoria, Arizona, her brother, Alston Bennett II, Grandchildren; Anthony Marc Hulin and Christopher MacNeil Hulin and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by five siblings, Stanley, Eugene, Mary, William and Martha (Priscilla). A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.
