Jerome “Jay” Ellison of Peoria, Arizona passed away April 13, 2016 at age 65. He was survived by his wife, Michele, two children, Jared and Jaime and their families, two brothers Tim and Bill and their children. He had two grandsons, Christian and Taylor who he dearly loved. Jay was born in Pontiac, Michigan. He and his wife moved to Arizona in 1976. Jay served in law enforcement 37 years and retired from both Maricopa County Sheriff Office, and City of Peoria Police Department. He was a family man, and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Community of Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at the National Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

I had not spoken with Jay for many years but have considered him to be a friend since we first met in 1977 at the Phoenix Police Academy. I was saddened today to learn of his passing. John Layman .
