Rita Ann McGowan

Mrs. Rita Ann McGowan, 80, of Surprise, Arizona passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. She was born September 26, 1937 to John and Mercedes Rowley in Chicago, Illinois. Rita enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge and her beloved dog Bella.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert M. McGowan, her daughters; Peg Burns (Jack) and Maureen Latham (Jack), her sons; Mike McGowan (Heather), Pat McGowan (Diane) and Dan McGowan (Heather), her sisters; Jean Kutschke and Mary Flynn along with 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mercedes Rowley and her brother John Rowley.  A memorial mass will be held at St. Clare’s Catholic Church in Surprise on Monday February 5, at 10m. The burial will be at a later date in Chicago, IL.  In memory of Rita McGowan, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley at hov.org, phone number 602-530-6992.

Matthew Gerald Reid

Matthew G. Reid, 49, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away January 16, 2018. He was born March 12, 1968 to Larry Reid and Evelyn Brown in Goosebay, Labrador, Canada on the Air Force Base.
Matthew served in the Army / RA from 1988-1995 as a Sargent and received the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Metal, National Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Grenade Bar, Sharpshooter, Pathfinder Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar. He also enjoyed working for Lockheed Martin.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Marcy Reid; his stepdaughter, Kylie Taylor and stepsons, Ryan Taylor and Devin Taylor; his parents, Larry Reid and Evelyn Brown; his sisters; Diane McClurg, Amy Lockett and Jennifer Brown; and eight grandchildren.

Joseph Albert Marinelli

Joseph “Joe” Albert Marinelli,(81) passed away peacefully on January 14, 2018, surrounded by his wife, Linda, of 58 years and two daughters, Norene Marinelli and Wendy Vainauskas. He died of complications related to Parkinson’s Disease. Joseph was born in Bellaire, Ohio to his parents Albert and Gilda Marinelli. After serving in the Army, he and his wife moved to Northern California where he spent 30 years in the grocery industry. He retired at age 55, moved to Kingwood, Texas, and eventually Goodyear, AZ. He spent much of his retirement in the travel industry where he and his wife shared their love of travel and was a part-time handyman. He was loved by everyone who knew him, through his kindness and warm heart.

Aside from his wife and two daughters, Joseph leaves behind a son; Joseph Lee Marinelli, sister; Patti Marinelli and brother; Albert Marinelli, 4 grand-children, several aunts, cousins, a niece and a nephew.
