Albert James Rice passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023 at the age of 91. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Dina, his 6 children, 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Al met and married Dina in their home state of Michigan in 1953 and have been each other’s best friends since that time. Al served in the Air Force during the Korean war and was stationed at Luke AFB in Arizona where he gained a love for open horizons, rugged mountains, and beautiful cacti. After serving his time in the Air Force, he went back to Michigan to work for AT&T Western Electric where he continued to work until he retired at the age of 50 after 28 years.
Every year (after vowing never to stay at home doing chores on vacation) he took his family camping throughout the United States and Canada. On the weekends he loved spending time with his family playing games, hiking in the park, or other mini adventures. Al and Dina traveled out west settling in Phoenix, Arizona and enjoyed many more memorable trips over the next 41 years, catching up with extended family, and making new friends.
Al will be sorely missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We All Love You!!! Forever and Always!!!
