Ronald E. Nagel

Ronald Eugene Nagel, 75, was born Dec 25th, 1939 and passed away peacefully on Thursday July 9th. Ron was born to Jeannette and William Nagel in Sturgis, Michigan along with his twin brother Don, Christmas gifts to their parents.
Ron moved to Great Falls, Montana as part of his career where he met Rita Rach and were married Nov 5th, 1964. They celebrated a joyful 50 years together.
Ron had gone to tech school in Detroit, MI and was later employed by Boeing. He worked for them for 41 years. During that time they had the opportunity to see the world and lived in countless locations.
Ron served actively as an elder and in other capacities in the many churches where they were members. One of those roles was leader of boys in the Calvinist Cadet Corps. At the time of his death he was serving as secretary of the Board at West Valley Christian Fellowship.
After Ron’s retirement in 2001, Ron and Rita were snowbirds and shared their time between Arizona and Dallas, Oregon. Part of his retirement was using God’s gifts in computer work to share and serve others. Rather than calling the Geek Squad, Ron was willing to be anyone’s personal geek when computer issues were at crisis level. While here, he created and developed the software for our church directory which is still in use today. Ron also enjoyed playing golf and bowling with his church friends. They enjoyed traveling so much they saw 63 countries all over the world in their married life.
He leaves behind his wife Rita, daughter Jackie, her husband David Lawson, and grand children Christopher and Elizabeth of Dallas, OR. Ron was preceded in death 2012, by his son Michael who was married to Dawn. His twin preceded him in death 6 years prior. Don was married to Sandy and they have 3 children, Michelle, Scott and Jody who live in the Michigan area.
Ron grew up on Nagel road in Parchment, MI (near Kalamazoo), where he shared many fun childhood escapades with numerous cousins and extensive family.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that any donations are to be directed to West Valley Christian Fellowship.
Condolences can be sent to 300 SE Ironwood, Dallas, OR 97338
