Terry K Marquardt

Terry K Marquardt, 62, of Peoria, IL, passed away Monday June 19, 2017 at his home in Surprise, AZ. He was born September 25, 1954 in Peoria, IL to Theodore and Glenna Marquardt. He is survived by his mother, Glenna Marquardt of Peoria, IL, his brother Tom (Linda) Marquardt of Mt. Sterling, MI, his brother Bill (Mary) Marquardt of Peoria, IL, his son Ryan (Kelly) Marquardt of Honolulu, HI, his daughters Jennifer (Luke) Atkins of Surprise, AZ, Kristen Whittles and Kari McMillan both of Peoria, IL and his former wife and friend Cindy Gibson of Surprise, AZ. He was grandfather to 9 grandchildren, Haley, Harper and unborn baby Marquardt, Corgan and Rylee Atkins, Ava Whittles, Kylie McMillan, Payton Marquardt and Olivia Power. He was preceded in death by his father.

Terry graduated from Peoria Central in 1974. He spent most of his life working in the construction and remodeling industry. His favorite job was being a grandpa and he was lovingly known as “Grandpa T”

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 4 to 6pm at the Creve Coeur Club, located at 456 Fulton Street Suite 186 in Peoria, IL.

Paula Jean Day

Paula Jean Day (nee Wetzel) entered into the Lord’s presence, Sunday, June 11, 2017; Beloved wife of Rick Day; dearest mother of Paul Day (Krista Wiseman) and Christopher Day; dear grandmother of Keller Day; dear sister of Debbie Rekart (Joe), Jeff Wetzel (Mary), and Tim Wetzel (Lisa); loving daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Betty (nee Mayhew) Wetzel.
A family visitation will be on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 10 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., at West County Assembly of God, 13431 N. Outer 40 Rd., Chesterfield, MO, 63017. Freddy Sumner

Fred D. Sumner, age 61 of Avondale, AZ died June 4, 2017. He was born February 28, 1956 in Roswell, NM to Howard Cecil and Maxine Lett Sumner. Fred worked at National Beef Packing Company, one of the largest meat packing plants for 15 years. It was there that he met the love of his life, Sharon Sumner. In their 34 years of marriage they raised four children and helped raise three grandchildren. He was a double lung transplant survivor in 2011. Fred also worked for Best Materials a roofing Supply Company, where he moved from a delivery driver to the top salesman to the general manager in just a few years. Fred is survived by his daughters, Gina Sumner, Ericca Sumner, Stacy Willis; son Kevin Sumner; two grandsons and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Sumner.

Lucille Baldwin

Ms. Lucille Baldwin, 63 of Avondale, Arizona passed away on May 24, 2017. She was born to Devy Lathon and Lucille Lanford in Momence, Illinois on August 24, 1954. Lucille worked for Catholic charities for more than five years and enjoyed helping in the community. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for over fifteen years. She believed in the Lord dearly.

She is survived by her daughters, Ebony L. Baldwin and Francesca A. Lathon; sons, Jamal C. Lathon, Curtis Lathon and Cleo Lathon; sisters, Paulette Burks, Dolores Lathon and Nettie Lathon; and brothers, Wood Lathon and Herman Lathon. Lucille was a grandmother to more than 30 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her father, Devy Lathon, her mother Lucille Lathon and her sister Elaine Lathon.

Marshall Shaffer

Marshall Charles Shaffer, 67 of Surprise, Arizona, formerly of Lake Stevens and Hansville Washington, passed away on May 18, 2017 in Surprise, Arizona of a combination of Stage IV lung cancer and heart disease. 

He passed peacefully and without pain, in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born October 13, 1949 to Marshall Edward Shaffer and Minnie Mildred Shaffer in Somers Point, New Jersey.

Marshall served in the United States Marine Corp from October 1970 to October 1974 as a Sergeant in Aviation.

He was the co-founder of Choices Northwest Inc., an office furniture company in Washington State.  He ran his company with integrity and loyalty from 1992 until it closed in 2014.

Marshall lives on in the hearts and memories of his wife of 48 years, Bonnie Shaffer, his beloved dog Kiki, his son Heath Shaffer and wife Jacquelyn Edwards, his son Justin Shaffer and partner Flora Ajcac Bixcul, his daughter Amanda Shaffer and fiancé Sara Perry, and his grandson Marshall David Shaffer.

He was preceded in passing by his mother and father, brother, Roger and sisters, Patricia and Jeanette.

There will be no services as most of his close family and friends traveled to see him and celebrate him during his final days.

Carol Jorgensen

Ms. Carol Anne Jorgensen, 67, of Sun City, Arizona passed away on May 13, 2017 at her home.

She was born to Leo Rogers and Marjorie Andersen in Anchorage, Alaska on November 17, 1948.

Carol enjoyed a 26 year career at Bassett Army Community Hospital, where she received the Commander’s Award for civilian service. Carol was a proud Alaskan who loved country music and square dancing in her youth. Carol loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son James Jorgensen; sisters Margaret “Sam” Rogers and Mary Reese.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Barbara “Brandy” Durante, her sister Patricia Seary and her brothers, Robert “Bob” Rogers and John “Jack” Rogers.
